Newcastle United’s disappointing defeat at Sheffield United earlier this week took their winless go to 8 games in all competitors.

Magpies legend Alan Shearer perfectly summed up the mood of the fanbase with an impassioned article on The Athletic website today.

” You require something to think in, to purchase into, a grand plan, a dream, an idea. You want it to represent you.
