Tracy Morgan Pays It Forward in His Home Town for Thanksgiving

Wanda Dench, the Arizona grandmother who inadvertently invited a complete stranger to her Thanksgiving dinner in 2016 and formed a stunning relationship with him as an outcome, is celebrating her first holiday without her husband Lonnie Dench, who passed away from coronavirus in April.

” He had the truest heart of love, like no other,” Wanda informed regional news outlet Arizona Family‘s Briana Whitney soon after Lonnie’s death. “He did so many acts of generosity that no one ever heard about. He was my hero. And I’m a better individual due to the fact that of him.”

Jamal Hinton, the then teen who Wanda unintentionally welcomed to Thanksgiving supper when she texted the wrong number– and after that extended the invite to the holiday anyhow– shared the sad news on Twitter in April, writing, ” As a few of you may have currently learnt tonight Lonnie did not make it … he died Sunday morning but Wanda informed me all the love and assistance he was getting put a big smile on his face so I thank each and every single one of you guys for that!”

That very same month, Jamal likewise shared a video of him at lunch with Wanda, Lonnie, and his sweetheart Mikaela Grubbs, composing “We miss you Lonnie.”

Briana followed up on the story of Wanda and Jamal, and shared that while the two won’t get together on Thanksgiving this year, as they have for the past four years, they were still commemorating the festivities– and honoring Lonnie at the same time.

Briana’s pictures, which she posted to Twitter, show Wanda and Jamal, now 21, sitting at the table in addition to a photo and candle light for Lonnie.


” It might be a little early, however Thanksgiving would not be the exact same without Wanda & Jamal,” Briana tweeted. ” In 2016 they went viral when she inadvertently texted him rather of her real grand son. This year they honor Wanda’s husband Lonnie, who passed from COVID.”

Jamal tweeted pictures of the initial Thanksgiving party on the vacation itself, writing, “5 years strong! Pleased Thanksgiving everyone.”
