Jeff Bezos’ Billion Dollar Fortune and Divorce: By The Numbers
Jeff Bezos is stepping down from his post at Amazon.
On Tuesday, Feb. 2, founder and CEO of the technology company stated he will transition to the function of executive chair later on this year. President of Amazon Web Provider Andy Jassy will end up being the next CEO.
In an email memo to employees made public, Bezos reviewed Amazon’s overwhelming growth over the past almost three years.
” This journey started some 27 years earlier,” he described. “Amazon was just an idea, and it had no name. The concern I was asked most often at that time was, ‘What’s the web?’ Blessedly, I haven’t had to discuss that in a long while.”
In 1995, the Princeton University grad founded Amazon as an online book shop in his garage.
Bezo explained his time at Amazon as “significant and enjoyable,” composing, “I get to work with the smartest, most gifted, a lot of ingenious colleagues.
” As much as I still tap dance into the office, I’m excited about this shift,” he continued.
” As Exec Chair I will stay engaged in essential Amazon efforts but likewise have the time and energy I require to concentrate on the Day 1 Fund, the Bezos Earth Fund, Blue Origin, The Washington Post, and my other passions,” Bezos wrote to personnel. “I have actually never ever had more energy, and this isn’t about retiring.
