Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi has asked acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller to stop his plans to install an “unqualified” Trump loyalist as the National Security Company General Counsel.

In a Sunday letter to Miller, launched Monday, Pelosi required that the authorities “instantly stop plans to poorly set up” Michael Ellis, a previous Republican politician political operative and White Home staffer, as the brand-new NSA General Counsel simply 72 hours prior to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.

” Public reporting indicates that Mr. Ellis, a fairly current law school graduate with a restricted resume, was selected due to disturbance by the White House, and was picked over a lot more certified prospects,” she composed.

The NSA stated it was “moving forward” to install Ellis on Sunday, a day after Miller bought the Trump loyalist to be immediately positioned in the position.

The Pentagon has protected their decision to pick Ellis and insisted he was qualified for the leading lawyer role.

In her letter to Miller, Pelosi also requested an investigation into the choice procedure for the general counsel function and expressed that she had “severe issues” about possible political disturbance.

Ellis served as the head counsel to Republican Congressman Devin Nunes before he joined the Trump administration as senior associate counsel to President Donald Trump.
