Dustin Diamond, who was best known for playing the lovable Samuel “Screech” Powers on Saved By the Bell, passed away after a fight with phase 4 lung cancer.

Dustin Diamond has lost his fight with lung cancer.


” He was detected with this brutal, unrelenting type of malignant cancer only 3 weeks ago,” a rep for the actor shared with E! Dustin did not suffer.

When news initially broke of Dustin’s cancer battle, his Conserved By the Bell co-stars were quick to send him well wishes.

As Mario Lopez formerly wrote on Instagram, “I gotten in touch with Dustin previously this evening and although the news of his diagnosis is heartbreaking, we remain positive that he’ll overcome this. Wishing him & his household and for a fast healing. God Bless.”

For 13 years, Dustin portrayed Samuel “Screech” Powers on the little screen prior to appearing on a range of reality shows consisting of Celebrity Fit Club and Celeb Big Bro in the U.K.

While Dustin’s rep acknowledged his customer’s “history of mishaps,” the actor was likewise a “funny and high-spirited specific whose biggest enthusiasm was to make others laugh. He was able to sense and feel other peoples’ feelings to such a length that he was able to feel them too– a strength and a defect, all in one.”

” We please ask that you provide room for privacy to our group and Mr. Diamond’s household throughout this awful time, as we grieve and remember the memories invested together,” his associate’s declaration continued. “This loss is as much stinging as it is unexpected.”

Dustin’s unexpected passing comes simply a couple of weeks after E!

Although Dustin is synonymous with the Conserved by the Bell franchise, he was the only initial core cast member to not appear in Peacock’s revival series that introduced in November 2020.

His lack was resolved when one character discussed, “Screech is so lucky he and Kevin get to reside on the International Space Station, so he does not have to handle all this.”
