Talk about a quick romance. Matt Casey ( Jesse Spencer) and Sylvie Brett ( Kara Killmer) lastly got together throughout the 2nd episode of Chicago Fire season 9– and were done by the 3rd.

” We didn’t want them to simply kiss and everything be great, due to the fact that there is a history on the program that we chart pretty religiously. We don’t just sweep our past under the rug and say ‘those things didn’t matter,'” showrunner Derek Haas told Us Weekly solely.

While the writer stayed tight-lipped on who those characters will be, he teased that it’s possible that a person could be a brand-new romantic interest for Casey or Brett.

” It could be.

While planning for the Casey/Brett plot, Haas was aware that fans of Casey’s ex-wife, Gabby ( Monica Raymund), would be disturbed if they didn’t approach the reality that Gabby was likewise Brett’s friend prior to she left town.

” We constantly knew it would be tough just because of their past and the letter ‘G’ hanging over their heads for Gabby. Our entire thing as writers is simply, we desire it to be truthful. And we desire the characters to state the important things that I think those two characters with that history would state in this situation,” the manufacturer said. “Let’s not forget that Gabby is not three years in the rearview mirror. It was last winter season ending that she came back and Casey went to the charity ball with her. It’s still fresh in everyone’s mind.”

Haas also teased some turmoil ahead for Severide ( Taylor Kinney) and Kidd ( Miranda Rae Mayo) with him learning that a lieutenant thinks she ‘d get the promo since of their relationship.

” Severide is extremely great at saving people. He’s not so good at interacting, and he’s never been that willing to state exactly what’s on his mind, which can be irritating when you’re the lady in his life,” he told United States

Chicago Fire airs on NBC Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
