Gone but not forgotten. Celine Dion commemorated late other half René Angélil on Thursday, January 14– 5 years after his death.
The “All by Myself” singer, 52, shared a snap of herself and the music manufacturer holding hands through Instagram, along with a touching message for her husband of 21 years.
” René, it’s been 5 years currently … There’s not one day that we don’t think about you. And we hope that you’ll shine your love on the whole world, to all those at this very moment, who are dealing with exceptionally tough times,” Dion captioned the picture.
The Canadian musician spoke out about her partner’s death in April 2019 throughout a look on Excellent Morning America She revealed the one piece of recommendations she ‘d give others handling such a loss, which was, “You can not stop living. Move forward. Today is the first day of the beginning of [your] life.”
She said at the time that she felt “so effective and in charge and grounded and pleased” as a single mama, crediting Angélil, who was 73 when he passed away, with providing her “strength” during their relationship: “I will never be a daddy but it’s like … I remain in a double task as a parent– I’m a ‘parents.’ I’m the huge offer! And the kids are growing and I see them and I look at them and I’m like, ‘Wow, we’ve done a fantastic task and I’m so proud.”
In February 2018, 2 years after her partner died, the songstress appeared on Australian TV program The Task where she talked about keeping her husband’s memory alive.
Dion and Angélil met when she was 12 years old and tied the knot years later on, in December 1994, when she was 26.
Speaking To Paris Match magazine at the time, the Grammy award winner stated, “René wished to die in my arms.” She was carrying out the night he passed away. He passed away after falling out of bed. Dion shared, “He should have wished to get up and fell on the flooring.” She included that the pair had a post-show regimen, which involved her offering him “a kiss” and tucking him in. That evening, she didn’t wish to wake him, and a nurse found him the next early morning.
